While it doesn’t happen often, there are times when a library board must face the reality that its CEO is not meeting performance expectations. This session will provide an overview of a helpful performance management process and equip board members with a sound approach to identifying, communicating and improving performance shortfalls.
Outcomes:
As a result of this session, participants will be able to:
– identify where in the performance management process their board is currently
– recommend resources by which the board can assess its own effectiveness in managing the performance of the CEO
– advocate a fair, respectful, collaborative process for resolving unmet expectations.
