Why are you interested in the topic you are presenting?
I am always interested in leadership succession and in creating the best environment for success. Every organization has experienced some degree of “refresh” as one generation begins to retire and another is hired. Each generation has been shaped by unique foundational experiences and often can see the world through a different lens or in a new way. Our workplace is multi-generational with opportunities to lead throughout each organization. Every library or information organization is in a period of transition. Is leadership really different across generations? Are the things we learned about leadership in the past still relevant ? Will leadership styles change? All these are important questions as we strive to make our library and information organizations fearless.

What does “fearless” mean to you?
Fearless means embracing differences and diversity, moving out of our comfort zone, dealing with conflict and looking for the “glass half full.” It means taking risks, trusting others and confidently stepping into leadership positions and opportunities when they emerge.
