Games and Gadgets Zone: Interested in Robots, Circuits, Coding, and other collaborative gadgets that foster new ideas? Join Ontario Library and Information Technology Association (OLITA, a division of OLA) councillors and Brian Pichman of the Evolve Project in the Exhibit Hall’s Games and Gadgets zone. Open Thursday and Friday on the Super EXPO Floor.

Style Lounge: Open both Thursday and Friday on the Super EXPO Floor, we’ll have professional hair stylists, makeup artists, and photographers onsite to give you a headshot that will make your selfie cower in shame. No appointments necessary. Fierce photo poses mandatory. New this year: Lash Bar.

Laughter Yoga: Don’t have a yoga mat? No problem, you don’t need one. Not very flexible? That’s okay, there are no actual yoga poses involved! Do you like to laugh? Then this fun and energizing session was made for you! Heather Ratz, Assistant Librarian at The Brighton Public Library will lead the group through a session that involves deep breathing, childlike playfulness and plenty of unconditional laughter. Happening Friday, February 2 at 7:15 am – 8:15 am.

TIFF Film Reference Library Tour: The Film Reference Library is the ultimate free resource for film-lovers, filmmakers, scholars, teachers, and film and television professionals. A proud affiliate member of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), the library promotes Canadian and global film scholarship by collecting, preserving, and providing access to a comprehensive collection of film, and film-related reference resources.

Author Signings: This is our biggest year yet! Almost 200 author signings will be happening at the conference this year. Keep checking the website as new signings will be added right up until the conference!

Best Bets: Hot off the press! The Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators and Performers (CANSCAIP) proudly presents 10 Members nominated to the OLA Best Bets Lists. Join on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:25 a.m. for a lively session as some of today’s best children’s authors talk up their brand new creations.

Forest of Reading: Thinking about bringing an author to your school. On Friday, join the 10 of the this year’s nominated Forest of Reading authors for a lively session as some of today’s best children’s authors share a glimpse into the story behind the story.

Crime Writers of Canada: On Friday, the members of the Crime Writers of Canada, ranging from long-established favourites to up and coming first-timers, give you a fast-paced introduction to their newest mystery, suspense and true crime titles, and tell you why they should be in your library.
