Description:

The session will describe experiences of the Ontario Public Health Libraries Association that promotes an “embedded library practice.” As the knowledge brokerage profession formalized to an integral part of public health, the members engaged in advocacy become part of knowledge translation teams, and developed expertise that supports this role.

Outcomes:
The participants will learn about the uniqueness of public health librarianship and the structure of public health libraries in Ontario. The concept of CIHR knowledge to action framework will be briefly introduced, and participants will learn about strength of partnerships, effective advocacy, techniques and tools for collaboration and resource sharing leading to inclusion of information professionals in the K2A process.
