Description:

Come cozy up your makerspace! This session will explore the links between knitting, coding and design thinking. Using a basic dishcloth pattern as a template, we will experiment with knits, purls, repeat blocks, and pattern design/adaptation (including a knitted scannable QR code). Knitting experience helpful, but not required.

Outcomes:
• Expand perceptions of the makerspace environment
• Strengthen links between coding/math and hands-on art/craft activities
• Explore the design process
• Invite learners to see themselves as creators
