Why are you interested in the topic you are presenting?
I’ve always had a natural connection with making and literacy. My classes would often be about students creating unique projects to demonstrate their ideas of literacy, foster their creativity and develop a love of learning through exploration and making.
What does “fearless” mean to you?
To create opportunities, enhance curiosity and develop success where others doubt that it can be done. To take on the mindset of, “I can do this”, even if it takes you a few explosions to do so! Trying and not always succeeding, but always learning and triumphing in the end!
What have you read/seen/listened to lately that you would recommend to your audience (something that would help them to learn more about your topic)?
Although there is a plethora of books on Making, I use my network of innovators who share their ideas and experiences of Making. Surround yourself with innovators who aren’t afraid to show you the rough patches of their “stunt work”. Twitter has been a huge resource to connect with these amazing people, who range from educators & engineers to kid makers and entrepreneurs.
