Why are you interested in the topic you are presenting?
A consummate bookworm since the age of 8, I never graduated to “adult” books and continue reading YA and children’s titles to this day. My love of literature led to a need to tell others about the amazing books I have read. Being a member of the OLA Best Bets Committee allows me to not only read some amazing children’s and YA books (and by Canadian authors and illustrators to boot!), but also to tell coworkers, friends, family – really anyone who will sit still long enough to listen – about titles that inspire me.

What does “fearless” mean to you?
“Fearless” definitely means doing what you think is right even when no one else will help you, and standing up for others who can’t defend themselves; however, I also believe “fearless” can mean little things – like getting rid of the spider in the corner without calling someone else to come and do it for you.

What have you read/seen/listened to lately that you would recommend to your audience (something that would help them to learn more about your topic)?
I am always on the lookout for my next great read. I love scrolling through the lists on Goodreads for new finds, as well as looking into bloggers such as The Book Smugglers, The YA Shelf, Book Riot, and review journals such as Quill & Quire, School Library Journal, and the Horn Book to see what they recommend. One of my best finds was from The Book Smugglers when they reviewed a little known title, The Rise of Renegade X by Chelsea M. Campbell. Amazing!
