Why are you interested in the topic you are presenting?
I am trans and I’m also an educator and activist. I want teacher-librarians to be able to support all their students to the fullest, and I believe I can be helpful. So I am willing to help educate the community of teacher-librarians so that they will better be able to support LGBTQ youth in their schools. I’m also passionate about adult education, and to collaborate with other educators is exciting.

What does “fearless” mean to you?
It means standing up for what you believe; being open to other perspectives; using your strong voice, even when people are trying to silence you or speak for you; standing in solidarity in the face of hate; deep listening; being unapologetically who you are; owning up to privilege; taking responsibility; getting up every day and going outside while wondering if this might be another day you are attacked because society is largely hostile to trans people, especially women; being a true ally; standing up to oppression…even when you’re not the target; loving anyway.
