I think there’s so much potential for libraries to be involved in the open data movement. I’m excited to embrace it and start participating in the conversation!
What does “fearless” mean to you?
Veronica Roth said it best, “Becoming fearless isn’t the point. That’s impossible. It’s learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.” (Divergent)
What have you read/seen/listened to lately that you would recommend to your audience (something that would help them to learn more about your topic)?
Participate in the Open Data Book Club! The Open Data Book Club pretty much runs the same as a regular book club but instead of reviewing books, they review open data sets. The group meets monthly at the Toronto Reference Library and they explore open data sets from either Municipal, Provincial or Federal levels of government. The group consists of regular citizens, public servants from all levels of government, data enthusiasts, coders, developers etc. For more information, visit: https://www.meetup.com/opentoronto/
