Description:

Walpole Island First Nation hosted the 2017 Potawatomi Gathering, tribes converged from Michigan, Wisconsin, Kansas and Oklahoma for a scintillating rendezvous. Expect a slideshow of various venues featuring language/language instruction, art, foods, and music. Finally, expect the colour, storytelling, nature, dance, and the excitement of the Potawatomi Peoples Gathering!

Outcomes:
This session will demonstrate how the Potawatomi people across several states and Canada work together to hold onto their traditions and language. Imperative that educational institutions teach truth and value Indigenous culture.
