F.H. MILLER JUNIOR PUBLIC SCHOOL

F.H. Miller Junior Public School is located on the northwest corner of Caledonia Road and Rogers Road in the former Borough of York. The school was build in 1926 and was named for the first York School Board Chairman, Fred H. Miller. The school motto is “The small school that thinks big!”

Library spaces don’t have to be large to create a big impact.
On this tour teacher-librarian, digital lead learner and Google Educator, Myra Campbell will share how she makes the most out of the library’s small space expanding the physical environment through collaborative parternships and use of green screen technology.

HUMBERSIDE COLLEGIATE INSTITUTE

Established in 1892, Humberside Collegiate Institute’s architecturally significant building, located near High Park in the western part of Toronto, sits in one of the most beautiful settings in the T.D.S.B. In preparation for the celebration of its 125th anniversary the library took on the journey to transform a challenging two-story space dominated by book shelves into a flexible, welcoming collaborative learning environment.

Teacher-librarian Caroline Schoales will describe the process of beginning the journey to exploring opportunities in collaboration with a supportive school administrator, supported by our board architectural designer and central Library Learning Resources department team.
