When: Thursday, Feb 01 | 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm

Location: MTCC - 202AC

Days: Thursday. Event Types: Session. Sectors: Public Libraries. Subjects: Assessment, Community, Outreach & Advocacy, and Programming.

Description:

How do the programs and activities of public libraries influence their communities? Beyond feedback forms and surveys, this training session equips participants to mobilize systems theory to identify and quantify impact/influence comprehensively, holistically, and strategically. Jargon-free zone: no past systems training experience necessary.

Outcomes:
Build metrics for program evaluation that go beyond individual experiences/outcomes in order to strategically focus on and measure systemic social change in the community. Traditional program evaluation tends to focus on micro individual experiences and outcomes. To build a broader, systemic approach to social and civic transformation, we need tools to account for the measurable ramifications of any given program within the community as a whole. Systems analysis provides an interdisciplinary solution/framework.
