Digital Humanities projects are, by nature and necessity, collaborative. Incorporating undergraduate and graduate students into these research projects is mutually beneficial for student learning and faculty research. Attracting student talent to research teams can also prove challenging in fields in decline, like medieval history. This session provides an overview of an ongoing project to create a sustainable DH infrastructure at a small liberal arts university library. Through a case study of the Medieval DRAGEN Lab, it demonstrates how emerging technologies can enrich humanities research and be a catalyst for student engagement.
Outcomes:
Provide strategies to be partners in student recruitment and to overcome skepticism
Provide examples of DH tools and implementation strategies
Provide advice on how to make meaningful contributions to research projects with limited resources
