This session will outline the transformation of the Learning Library Commons at Downsview Secondary School. This is an urban priority high school with a diverse student population; including many who live on the periphery. We created an equitable, safe and engaging environment – and strategically developed a culture of reading.
Outcomes:
To provide an blueprint for Teacher-Librarians who want to build and implement a culture of reading for their school community: one that is built on kindness, achievement and inclusive practice.
