When: Friday, Feb 02 | 9:50 am - 10:30 am

Location: MTCC - 206C

Days: Friday. Event Types: Session. Sectors: Public Libraries. Subjects: Children's Services, Programming, and Rural.

Description:

This session outlines how a library branch in a small community established a partnership with a daycare to bring library programming to children in care after school. It details how we formed our partnership using broader strategic goals and what types of activities worked (or didn’t work) with a diverse group of children.

Outcomes:
1. Establish and maintain a functional partnership with a community organization
2. Use strategic planning/goals to inform how outreach will work
3. Select appropriate activities that are both fun and have educational value (i.e. using STEM, literacy)
4. Anticipate feasibility and challenges of conducting activities away from the branch
