Discussion of how applied librarianship and information management helped the Uxbridge Business Improvement Area through intense change, including a website redesign, community-building and events with the local public library, and information management overhaul. Hear the lessons learned from an unexpected (and scary!) but rewarding career detour for a young librarian.

Outcomes:
Learn how to transfer librarianship skills to unconventional jobs while marketing yourself as a young professional. Build strategies for collaboration and community-building between BIAs and public libraries.
