Description:

Competition for donations and sponsorship in a small community can be tough. Even trying to figure out how to ask for sponsorship can be a challenge, especially since most available resources focus on big corporations. The Town of Cobourg has literally hundreds of events and everyone is looking for additional funding, so the local business community has a challenging time wading through the list.

Asking for sponsorship in a small town can actually be to your advantage, and motivating local businesses to sponsor you can be easier than you think. Hear about our experience as the Cobourg Public Library dives into the world of sponsorship for the first time. We will share what worked and what didn’t, and pass along our strategies and ideas.

Outcomes:
– Learn the small-town advantage of sponsorship and the motivation of small-town sponsors
– Help sponsors make it work. Sponsorship is like a marriage; it’s all about commitment from both partners
