Description:

This session provides an update of the work of Toronto Public Library, participating libraries and Nordicity in developing a toolkit to assess technology requirements, impact and access in public libraries.

This project is the first Ontario study to explore the technology and support needs of residents in the context of different community groups that rely on the public library as key hubs for access. Currently, there is no Ontario study that supports technology service benchmarks and assessing the economic and social impact of technology services in public libraries.

Join the research team to learn more about this study and take a first look at the preliminary results from the pilot phase. This study is funded by the Government of Ontario.

Outcomes:
– Have a better understanding of the economic and social impact of technology services in public libraries
– Learn how access to technology supports the needs of residents in different community groups
– Learn about the preliminary results from the pilot phase of the study
