Heather Mathis currently works as the Divisional Support Manager for Branch Libraries at the Toronto Public Library. She is involved with planning services at TPLs 100 branch locations. Heather has been interested in merchandising library collections since 2001, when she led staff at her library branch to create a browsing zone consisting of an old index table, two square study tables and three lamps purchased from Ikea, which quickly became a hit with customers. Heather is now the chair of TPLs Merchandising Team, which promotes the improvement of the customers browsing experience through merchandising and the development of welcoming spaces.
