Description:

What is the importance of having diverse writers? What is the current state of diverse authorship in children’s and young adult publishing? How can librarians identify books by diverse authors? How can books by diverse authors reach more readers? Inspired by the #WeNeedDiverseBooks campaign, this session will discuss the importance of having works by diverse writers and how to use them to reach your diverse readers. The session will be hosted by Kat Mototsune, Children’s and Teens Editor for Lorimer Publishing, as well as authors Melanie Florence and Christina Minaki.
