Description:

There is a strong correlation between high literacy rates, successful individuals and vibrant communities.  Public libraries play an important role in encouraging reading and staff need to support and advocate for readers.  OPLA’s Readers’ Advisory Committee will share information about reading and readers’ advisory which participants will be able to apply in their own workplaces.  Based on the Readers’ Advisory Core Competencies, which have been compiled by the Committee, this debut session will set the direction for a tool-kit of skills which can be used to serve adult readers in libraries across the province.
