Description:

This session will focus on practical digital forensics techniques to support the recovery and preservation of digital materials in a library setting. Long reserved for police and spy agencies, these techniques are starting to see adoption in libraries and archives that are acquiring more born digital collections and computer storage media. This session will address the different ways digital forensic techniques can be utilized in the workplace through free and open-source tools.

Learning Outcomes
Attendees will understand the use cases for DF techniques in library work.
Attendees will see the use of some basic DF tools and understand how they fit into a larger workflow.
Attendees will learn tools they can begin using right away, and provided with some resources for further skill development.
