Julia Harrington is the Career and Small Business Librarian of the Calgary Public Library. Since 2013, Julia has designed and delivered library programs and services to local entrepreneurs. With extensive experience providing information support to start ups, Julia has been a guest speaker to local entrepreneur programs, small business meet up groups, non-profits, and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. Her “Small Business Tuesday” programs regularly draw between 25-50 entrepreneurs. She has successfully partnered with municipal, provincial, and national organizations to head large scale events that have brought over 150 people into the Central Library.
Julia Harrington is also the coordinator of the Calgary Public Library’s Idea Lab – a unique space for creativity and innovation for non-profits, start ups, and everyday Calgarians. She has previously presented at OLA’s Super Conference in 2012 and 2013. Julia has a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science, as well as a Western Certificate in University Teaching and Learning.
