Harriet Rykse is the Associate Chief Librarian at Western Libraries with leadership accountability for content management, discovery, and access. She is currently involved in the organizational renewal initiative and master space planning which Western Libraries is currently undertaking. Previous to this role she was the Digital Information Resources Librarian and, in that role, had responsibility for negotiating licenses and maintaining access to electronic resources. Harriet was also the Head of Research and Instructional Services at the Engineering/Science/Health Sciences/Medicine and Dentistry Library at Western and before that she was a school librarian. She has enjoyed the opportunity to provide service in various different positions within Western Libraries and for faculty, staff and students from kindergarten through post-secondary. In her spare time Harriet is an avid reader and cyclist (but not at the same time. . .)
