After starting out as an aerospace engineering technologist, Gillian Clinton moved on to running her own information research company, Toronto-based Clinton Research, in 1992. Her company provides information literacy workshops and services including background research, literature reviews and editorial services to academia, government organizations and private corporations and individuals in Canada, the United States and Europe.

Clinton Research (www.clintonresearch.ca), has provided clients with research on refrigerated foods, green roofs for transit terminals, comparative statistics on violent crime, components for satellites and other topics in the areas of STEM, Civil Society, Law and History. Gillian has also worked in academic and corporate libraries as a reference librarian, taught information literacy, catalogued multimedia works, initiated document control systems and become an expert at proposal writing. Several of her bibliographies, on Civil Society, Information Management, Environmental Reform and the G8 & G20, have been published both online and in academic texts.

Gillian is also actively involved in a number of professional associations including SLA, AIIP and CASI (the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute).
