Frank van Kalmthout manages the Archives of Ontario Library, a collection of over 80,000 items on all aspects of Ontario’s history. The library supports the curatorial and professional information needs of Archives’ staff and the historical research needs of the Archives’ diverse research clientele.
He is a Director on the Ontario Government Libraries Council executive, and is deeply involved in efforts for long term preservation of the Ontario government’s digital publications.
During the pioneer days of the internet, he was the Archives of Ontario’s first Webmaster. He also was Manager of Customer Services for two years. Prior to the Archives, Frank worked at Calgary Public Library as a cataloguer and as a branch librarian.
He has a BA in History, and an MLIS, both from the University of Western Ontario.
