In our continually developing field, talented librarians are finding themselves increasingly working in non-librarian roles and not in libraries. We’ll discuss how you can apply the principles and practices of librarianship outside of a library in a non-librarian role. We will discuss what experience, skills, and attitudes naturally translate to positions outside of libraries. Learn how information organization, curation, accessibility, records management, information literacy, user experience, social media, web design, copyright and more are used everyday in positions outside of a library in the context of a local health unit.
Outcomes:
Attendees will learn how to identify opportunities to translate their knowledge and skills to positions outside of traditional libraries.
