Government and research funding organizations are increasingly making funding contingent upon providing access to research in an open access platform, creating the need for Institutional Repositories (IR) through which scholars can legally distribute their research results and reports.

This presentation will review the organization of an IR, its benefits and challenges for research support, knowledge dissemination and uses for Renison University College. The creation of RSpace represents an unparalleled opportunity to involve faculty, staff and students in all stages of planning and implementation of an institutional repository to support open access, scholarly communication and research.
