Mary Horman is the Digital Archivist at Renison University College, an affiliated college with the University of Waterloo. She is responsible for creating workflows for creating metadata for digitizing items for archival materials, college records and for the institutional repository. Previously she worked as an original cataloguer at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend Indiana, as Government Documents Librarian and reference librarian at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia (a United States Federal Library Depository and a United States Patent and Trademark Depository), as well as a music librarian at the Central Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. While at Virginia Commonwealth University, she was responsible for overseeing the workflow and selecting materials for the United States Federal Library Depository and Patent and Trademark Depository Library Program, providing outreach to faculty and students for the depository programs as well as implementing a geospatial and statistical data service at VCU Libraries.
She has a Master of Library and Information Studies from McGill University in Montreal, QC and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music History from Carleton University in Ottawa, ON.
