When: Friday, Feb 03 | 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm

Location: ICTC Ontario

Days: Friday. Event Types: Session. Sectors: Public Libraries. Subjects: Creativity, Maker, and Outreach.

Description:

When your city already has energy to spare and maker enthusiasm, how can the library best show up and spark creativity? We share how branch staff led an initiative to connect with community members and improve our outreach presence. A BikeMobile was the right fit for a neighbourhood with good cycling infrastructure and a steady schedule of outdoors summer events. We have been able to address the need to reach the young, digitally connected downtown residents in environments of their choice. What DIY improvement to pop-up service will let you be responsive to your neighbourhood? How can you collaborate and get patrons invested in your success? Get on the trail and into the park. Let’s get inspired about the intersection of pop-up services, healthy workplaces, and maker culture.

Outcomes:
– Learn about DIY methods of enhancing their outreach presence
– Share inspiration for low budget projects and encourage connecting with local makers and creators
– Discuss being responsive to the needs of young digital resource users
