When: Friday, Feb 03 | 9:00 am - 10:15 am

Location: MTCC 206D

Days: Friday. Event Types: Session. Sectors: OLA. Subjects: Programming and Public Libraries.

Description:

Getting teen and new adult patrons to care about the library can be difficult, but tapping into the innate passions of fandoms can help raise program participation in public libraries–like the monthly teen Nerdvana program at the Cambridge Idea Exchange or the Harry Potter Alliance’s Chapters Program for libraries.

Outcomes:
-Learn the basics of creating fandom-based programs along with advertising tips and tricks.
-Take away knowledge of the Harry Potter Alliance (HPA) and how HPA can be used for philanthropic fandom programs.
