April 9-12, 2017 will mark 100 years since Canadian troops accomplished the impossible at Vimy Ridge and in so doing, according to many historians, established a national identity. This battle is an important learning opportunity but the horrors of combat may make it difficult to present to younger students in an appropriate way. Join authors John Wilson and Sigmund Brouwer in an tour of teaching resources suitable for elementary students, including a way to show the significant First Nations contributions to the war efforts and to highlight November 11, 1918 as the reason for Remembrance Day.
