Stephen Carney joined the CMHR as librarian in May, 2011. He is responsible for the development, physical processing, cataloguing and provision of access to the Museums library collection, and is also currently acting as Head of Collections. He has also worked as a Metadata Librarian with Alberta Education and an Academic Librarian at Bibliothèque St. Jean, University of Alberta. He acquired his MLIS in 2002 from the University of Albertas School of Library and Information Studies; and a Masters of Arts in Political Science in 1999 from York University, where his interest in freedom of expression lead him to librarianship.
