Sail through the doors of Spencer Avenue Elementary School’s vibrant library & makerspace and feel the energy as students play, explore, chat, experiment and create. Be careful though, students may be testing the best design for paper airplanes, learning how to take photos from a mini-drone, or figuring out how to shoot a scene beside an active volcano. This is the space that Sandra McLarnon, Teacher-Librarian, cultivates based on her belief that makerspaces immediately engage student interest, inspire kids to ask questions, and propels them to seek answers. She loves researching & discussing all things maker.
