Randee Loucks brings expertise and knowledge from more than 35 years’ experience supporting library and other nonprofit boards in Ontario and Alberta, as a facilitator and community cultural development and governance consultant. As Manager of Trustee Development, Southern Ontario Library Service (SOLS) from 1991 to 2005 she created a program of orientation and training for Ontario’s public library boards, developing the very successful Library Board Orientation Kit, Trustee Tips and Trustee 20/20, tools that remain standard references in board development today.

Randee is a graduate of McGill University and the University of Calgary and taught in a number of post-secondary institutions. She trained as a consultant on Policy Governance® with Dr. John Carver and is co-author of The Policy Governance Fieldbook, published by Jossey- Bass, San Francisco in 1999.

As a consultant, Randee has worked on numerous governance and strategic planning projects with many Ontario public libraries, and facilitated the initial Policy Governance® work with Ajax, Markham, Mississauga, Ottawa and Pickering Library Boards as well as other non-profit boards.

She has also assisted the Fort Erie, Brock Township and Welland Public Library Boards in their CEO searches.

Together with her Building Strong Boards partner, Margaret Andrewes, Andrewes-Loucks developed the Ontario Library Boards’ Association’s Leadership by Design program, first introduced in 2007 and completed in 2010. Leadership By Design is now incorporated into Learn HQ.

Margaret and Randee continue to be engaged in projects with Ontario Library Boards and other non-profit organizations, most recently with Sault Ste. Marie and Welland Public Library Boards.

Randee has served as a board member on many local and provincial boards in Alberta and currently is a member of the Garden City Minor Hockey Association Board of Directors.
