Joanna Szurmak is a digital initiatives and liaison librarian at the University of Toronto Mississauga Library (UTML) where she works with the Psychology, Philosophy, Chemical & Physical Sciences, and Mathematical & Computational Sciences departments. She co-ordinates the UTML Ask A Librarian chat service. Since 2010, Joanna has worked with the Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation (CTSI) at the University of Toronto on librarian instructional development. Her current research interests include narrative in teaching and individual librarian creativity. Joanna has graduate degrees in electrical engineering and information studies from the University of Toronto.
