Jan Thornhill is the author and illustrator of numerous science and nature books for children, including the Governor General’s Award-nominated The Wildlife ABC and The Wildlife 123 and the multi-award-winning I Found a Dead Bird. Her most recent title, Kyle Goes Alone (Owlkids, illustrated by Ashley Barron) is the story of a young three-toed sloth who has important business to do on the rain-forest floor.
When not working on books, Jan pokes around in the woods obsessively collecting and cataloguing fungi and slime molds, some of which she writes about on her blog, Weird and Wonderful Wild Mushrooms.
