James Lorimer has been the publisher of Lorimer in Toronto since its foundation in 1970. Hes also been the publisher of Formac in Halifax since 1981. He was one of the founders of the Association of Canadian Publishers, serving as its president in the 1970s. He was a Toronto Public Library board member from 1974-79, and its chair in 1976. Hes also a board member of the Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association. In the digital book realm, he has been a board member of Booknet Canada and Ebound Canada.
