Description:

This is how we began with an idea to extend our traditional storytimes into programs that are accessible, and beneficial, to the greater community. We found that the majority of our patrons attending traditional, in-house, storytimes were going to spend time in the library no matter what programs we offered. Through our new “Action Research” approach, researching on the job to find the questions that need to be asked to fill the needs of our community, we started reaching out in earnest to the rest of our community, as both partners in our endeavor and as community members using our services. Our intention is to reach all of the families who feel that they don’t belong in the library, aren’t welcome by fellow patrons, are unable to physically get to the library, or simply aren’t aware of what we have to offer. So we left the library….
