The Public Libraries Act provides the framework for free, equitable access to public library service in Ontario and all public library board members should be familiar with it. This session is intended to provide new public library board members with a basic understanding of the legislation, focusing on board powers and duties, while highlighting sound practices for effective public library service delivery and good municipal relations. This session will be led by representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
