Description:

Using a new cloud based tool, McGill University now has the ability to share collections of various types of records easily to either add them to their e-resources discovery knowledge base or obtain MARC records for their OPAC. They are collaborating with other universities in the United States to share creating KB packages for targeted e-resource packages, like one for Medici.tv.  They also created an instance of their discovery for our Alumni to use to access special e-resources they have licensed for them, which also includes open access packages, and they did this by sharing their KB collections from their regular setup with the Alumni.
Using their cooperative Knowledge Base to share the work and share collections is more efficient and effective.

This presentation will explain how it works and let you understand the possibilities of this type of cross-institutional collaboration to provide access to your print and electronic resources
