Fraser Mustard Early Learning Academy is a unique school planned and built to support the needs of early learners. Opened in 2013 and located in Thorncliffe Park, the school serves a population of 650+ Junior and Senior Kindergarten students, many whose parents are newcomers and whose primary language is not English. The school has a focus on inquiry and provides unique spaces, including: an outdoor garden for hands-on environmental studies, a Parenting and Family Centre, and a Childcare Centre provided through community partnerships. The school is also available for use by community groups.

Since 1907, Riverdale Collegiate Institute (RCI) has established a reputation for academic excellence and strong community involvement. Over the past 3 years the Riverdale library has undergone a transformative journey from traditional school library to library learning commons, housing mobile technology, cafe/lounge style seating, a makerspace, a quiet tech-free zone and vibrant teaching spaces. The RCI Library Learning Commons is a bustling hub of collaborative, cooperative, digital, global, and individual learning. It is a physical and virtual program for students that has been transformed and revitalized to meet the challenge of re-imagining, re-envisioning and re-purposing older library spaces for new contexts, providing collaborative learning spaces that embrace digital technology and improve student learning.

Michaëlle Jean Public School opened in September 2015 in the growing area of northern Ajax. It is a single-track French Language School with a school library learning commons that is bright, airy, open and flexible. Along with a growing collection of English and French materials, the library is a technology hub with mobile laptops and technology that make inquiry and collaboration a key foundation of teaching and learning.
