Description:

A community led initiative that started with a sticker.  The Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre wanted to make their First Nation Metis Inuit (FNMI) collection more accessible for browsing and locating material.  It was a priority to ensure that the Library’s collection was reflective of their diverse community.  A new spine label was created with consultation from Aboriginal leaders and elders, records were modified to reflect the newly formed integrated FNMI collection.  An Ojibwe language circle was formed, followed by an informal six-week language program and the Rabbit and Bear Paw puppet show and brunch all led and sponsored by members from the First Nations and Metis community.
