Description:

“HWDSB is not engaged in a technology project; rather, we are engaged in a process to enhance instruction, to invite students to engage in rich learning tasks and to rely on student voice to drive the learning environment in classrooms and through technology”(HWDSB 2014). As part of the one to one iPad pilot project for HWDSB, supporting K-12, Teacher Librarians are aiding staff and students in moving across the Inquiry-Based Learning continuum. We will share our experiences and discuss the important role Teacher Librarians play in this unique transformation within our education system.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session those in attendance should:
** Have a more in-depth understanding of how Inquiry Based Learning is supported through the use of technology as a tool
*** Have a better understanding of what the role of a Teacher Librarian is in a one to one iPad pilot school
**** Have a clearer understanding of the benefits and hurdles of starting a whole school one to one project
