Description:

Activate your Library Learning Commons by organizing a Maker Fair for your school community. Learn about the Maker Movement and how hosting a Maker Fair can galvanize your students and colleagues in a celebration of making. Encourage STEAM connections by engaging students in diverse forms of making ranging from 3D printing, animation, crochet and tie-dying. Create opportunities for your students to speak with local artists, engineers, entrepreneurs and Makers of all types and inspire them to become makers themselves with hands on activities. Incorporate Inquiry Based Learning strategies and spark student’s innovation, imagination and creativity with this school wide event.  Practical advice and tips for organizing your own Maker fair will be shared.

Learn about the Maker Movement and how it can inspire your students to critically examine how making can shape their understanding of the world. Discover strategies for incorporating STEAM and Inquiry Based Learning into your Maker Fair.
