Only three short decades ago, boards were almost completely ignored and only a handful of governance books and training existed—and most of what did exist wasn’t very good. Then bad things happened including Enron, WorldCom and Hollinger.
Fortunately these calamities were followed by good things including attention to governance, and plenty of governance theories and training opportunities. So where are we today? How does this affect Library Boards? And what can we do next to keep up the momentum and keep improving Library Boards?
