Despite significantly increased use and demand for ebooks, Canadian public libraries face challenges in ensuring universal access to this content because of high prices and restrictive terms imposed by multinational publishers. In June 2015 Canadian Public Libraries for Fair Ebook Pricing, launched a campaign aimed at raising awareness among library users, the general public and policy makers by creating a national dialogue on social media, traditional media and through government outreach. Hear an update on campaign results and future plans, plus an overview of recent developments in publishers’ pricing models.
