Description:

In the past 15 years during the tremendous growth in the number of charities, the field of Prospect Research has become one of the fundamental components of a successful fundraising organization in meeting its financial goals. Prospect Researchers are in-depth data mining analysts and profilers of individuals, corporations, and foundations which have the capacity and affinity to give a major-gifts to charities. Because the unique characteristics needed to be an excellent Prospect Researcher are similar to those needed in the field of Library and Information Sciences, charities have been recruiting from the MLIS programs for prospect research positions. Tracey has her HBA, MLIS, and Professional Certificate in Not-for-Profit Management from Western and teaches the “Prospect Research in Fundraising” course in the MLIS program. She is a regular presenter at regional, national, and international conferences including APRA, AHP, and AFP. Join Tracey in discovering this alternative, exciting and growing field of research!
