Yvonne emigrated from England to Saskatchewan and after completing an undergraduate degree at the University of Saskatchewan in German and English worked at the Saskatoon Public Library in preparation for admission to Library School at UBC.
After graduating from UBC Library School with a focus on public library work, Yvonne started her library career at North York Public Library. Subsequently Yvonne worked at Vancouver, Markham and Cambridge Public Libraries before settling in Hamilton and a long stretch with the Hamilton Public Library in various manager positions. Yvonne is currently Manager of Information Services at the Hamilton Public Library Central Library.
Yvonne has always maintained a passion for public libraries starting with her first experience as a library borrower in Leicester England. She also enjoys providing mentoring and support for others in the profession and has been involved with OLA’s career center for a few years.
Yvonne is also a supporter of her community and has participated on the local arts council, is presently on the Board of Chamber Music Hamilton and enjoys all the arts opportunities in Hamilton and Toronto.
