When Rachel was a child, she planned to be a doctor, a lawyer and a magician all at the same time. Fortunately, she was too busy reading to ever do any of those things, and realized that a career where she could read and talk about books was more to her liking. In addition to her job as the Fiction & Content specialist at EduCan Media, she sat on the Canadian Library Association Book of the Year for Children jury for 4 years, chairs a committee for the Canadian Children’s Book Center Best Books for Kids and Teens Magazine, and has served on multiple others In addition, she is a frequent contributor to Canadian Children’s Book News, co-hosts a weekly Middle-Grade Literature Chat on Twitter (under the handle @rachelnseigel) and contributes to Publishing Crawl Blog (www.publishingcrawl.com/. When she is not reading, she enjoys spending time with her long-time boyfriend and spoiling their very large dog
